Description

If you are familiar with Greenville, Old Buncombe Rd is about a mile from Cherrydale. If you are on North Pleasantburg Dr (heading towards Cherrydale), at the intersection with Poinsett Hwy go straight onto East Blue Ridge Dr. In 1.3 miles turn right at the light onto Old Buncombe Rd. The church is a little over a quarter of a mile on the left (look for our sign with the blue background and a red Cross as the “T” in Saints).

What to expect

If you have never visited us before or perhaps never experienced Anglican liturgical worship, here’s what you can expect:

You will enjoy a warm welcome. We love visitors and are so glad to have new faces worshiping with us! Therefore, regardless of your background or previous church affiliation, you are warmly welcomed.

Our Worship is user friendly. It has been said that Anglicans juggle books. While this isn’t really the case, sometimes it does feel that way. Therefore, to assist those who are less familiar with Anglican Worship, we have placed Worship booklets in every pew to help acclimate you to the service. The Worship booklet contains everything we do and say in the service as well as instructions that tell you when congregation is to stand, kneel, or be seated. Therefore, you will never be left wondering what to do next or feeling awkward and out of place.

Our worship is liturgical. The word “liturgy” means the work of the people. It reflects our conviction that worship is not simply something the believer attends but rather worship is something that each and every believer is to do. Thus, at every point in the service you are doing something- be it confessing sin, singing praise, or responding to God’s Word in your heart. In fact, the whole point of liturgy is to place the service in your hands so that you can actively take part.

We celebrate the Eucharist every Sunday. If you have received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, if you genuinely repent of your sins, and if you are a baptized member in good standing of a Trinitarian church then we welcome you to the Lord’s Table and rejoice to share this time of fellowship with you.

During the service, an usher will prompt your pew to come forward. When you arrive at the altar rail you are invited to kneel (unless you are physically unable) in order to show reverence to our Lord. The priest will come by and place the bread in your hand, and then the challis bearer will come by with the wine. You may either receive the wine from the cup, or you may intinct (dip) the bread in the wine. If you are physically unable to come to the altar rail for any reason, please inform the ushers before the service. They will let the priest know to serve you in your seat.

Our Worship is reverent. Anglican worship emphasizes the holiness and majesty of God, which calls for our respect and reverence. Everything about an Anglican service has meaning and points to our need for God and his mercy in forgiving us and making us whole in Christ. This aspect of worship is often forgotten amidst the fray of our busy lives, and re-encountering it can be a deeply moving experience.

Our Service is Active. You will notice that at All Saints the congregation does far more than simply sit and listen. Instead, we worship with our whole being. We move, we respond, we sing, we pray. In fact, every detail of the Anglican service is intended to engage the whole person in the act of worshiping God.

Our Service is online. Therefore, if you would like to see what it is all about before you come, you can watch any of our past services on our All Saints You Tube Channel. LINK.

These are some of the things that distinguish worship in an Anglican service. We hope that you will join us! In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to let us know. You can call or email the church and we will do our best to provide an answer.

Schedule Your Visit to All Saints

At All Saints you don’t have to make an appointment to attend church (how silly). However, it is always nice when you know someone who can show you around, introduce you to others, get you acclimated to the service, and be a familiar face in the future.

When you schedule a visit with us, there will be a specific designated person to greet you, take you under their wing, and make sure you have all you need for our services.

A few days before your visit, your host will call you to introduce him or herself; answer any questions you may have; and let you know where they will be when you arrive.

To schedule a visit, please complete the following form. We look forward to seeing you!

Please include the number where your host can contact you
Let your host know if there are any special needs or questions that you have regarding your visit. We will do our best to make sure they are addressed.
