V. In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

 R. Amen.

V. O Lord, open thou our lips.

 R. And our mouth shall show forth thy praise.

V. Receive, O Lord, our prayers this hour

R. The offering to you of this day. Amen

Let us humbly confess our sins unto Almighty God

ALMIGHTY and most merciful Father;

We have erred, and strayed from thy ways like lost sheep.

We have offended against thy holy laws;

And there is no health in us.

A period of silence for reflection may follow.

But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us;

Forgive us all our sins,

And grant that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life;

To the glory of thy holy Name. Amen.

O Lord, we beseech thee, mercifully hear our prayers, and grant us Absolution and Remission of all our sins, true repentance; amendment of life, and the grace and consolation of Thy Holy Spirit. Amen.

 V. O God, make speed to save us.

 R. O Lord, make haste to help us.

V. GLORY be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;

 R. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Psalmody

A Selection from the Psalter or

One or more of the Psalms below is read

Psalm 63:1 O God, Thou art my God; early I shall seek Thee; My soul thirsts for Thee, my flesh yearns for Thee, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.

 2 Thus I have beheld Thee in the sanctuary, to see Thy power and Thy glory.

 3 Because Thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise Thee.

 4 So I will bless Thee as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Thy name.

 5 My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth offers praises with joyful lips.

 6 When I remember Thee on my bed, I meditate on Thee in the early morning watches,

 7 For Thou hast been my help, and in the shadow of Thy wings I sing for joy.

 8 My soul clings to Thee; Thy right hand upholds me.

 9 But those who seek my life, to destroy it, will go into the depths of the earth.

 10 They will be delivered over to the power of the sword; They will be a prey for foxes.

 11 But the king will rejoice in God; Everyone who swears by Him will glory, For the mouths of those who speak lies will be stopped.

V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost,

 R. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

 Psalm 100:1 Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth.

 2 Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing.

 3 Know that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

 4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving, And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him; bless His name.

 5 For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting, And His faithfulness to all generations.

V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost,

R. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

  Psalm 118:1 Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

 2 Oh let Israel say, "His lovingkindness is everlasting."

 3 Oh let the house of Aaron say, "His lovingkindness is everlasting."

 4 Oh let those who fear the LORD say, "His lovingkindness is everlasting."

 5 From my distress I called upon the LORD; The LORD answered me and set me in a large place.

 6 The LORD is for me; I will not fear; What can man do to me?

 7 The LORD is for me among those who help me; Therefore I shall look with satisfaction on those who hate me.

 8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD Than to trust in man.

 9 It is better to take refuge in the LORD Than to trust in princes.

V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost,

 R. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

R. Thanks be to God.

Colossians 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. OUR Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

V. Our help is in the Name of the Lord.

 R. Who hath made heaven and earth.

 V. Let us pray.

O Lord, who took upon thyself our human nature and by thy death on the cross didst redeem all time and creation; we lift to you our prayers throughout these hours, and so offer to you this day and all our doings herein; beseeching thee to grant, that we, who confess thy coming Kingdom, may be ever mindful, that we serve on holy ground, that we abide in holy time, and undertake a holy labor; and this we ask of thee, who art alone Creator, Redeemer, and Lord of all. Amen.

O LORD, our heavenly Father, almighty and everlasting God, who hast safely brought us to the beginning of this day; Defend us in the same with thy mighty power; and grant that this day we fall into no sin, neither run into any kind of danger; but that all our doings, being ordered by thy governance, may be righteous in thy sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

V. Bless the Lord.

R. Thanks be to God.

THE grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Ghost, be with us all evermore. Amen.
