V. In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

 R. Amen.

V. The Lord is high above all the earth.

 R. And His glory above the heavens.

V. Receive, O Lord, our prayers this hour

R. The offering to you of this day. Amen

Let us confess our sins unto Almighty God

Most Gracious and Loving God,

We confess that we have sinned against thee

and done what is evil in thy sight;

That we have turned from thy ways

both in things done and left undone;

A period of silence for reflection may follow.

Wherefore we beseech thee O Lord,

Have mercy upon us; forgive us all our sins.

Cast us not away from thy presence

But cleanse us with thy Spirit;

That we may walk in newness of life;

And this we ask in the Name of thy Son

Our savior, Jesus Christ. Amen

O Lord, we beseech thee, mercifully hear our prayers, and grant us Absolution and Remission of all our sins, true repentance; amendment of life, and the grace and consolation of Thy Holy Spirit. Amen.

 V. O God, make speed to save us.

 R. O Lord, make haste to help us.

 V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost,

 R. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

O Radiance of the Father

Thyself our light and day

We rise at night to seek thee

Assist us Christ we pray

Drive from our souls all darkness

All thoughts and dreams of ill

Comfort all our sorrows

All worries calm and still

Make strong our faith within us

Bid fears in fear to flee

Draw close in loving kindness

And hear thy children’s plea

O God the Father, Spirit, Son

Holy three, eternal One

In this we ask thy will be done

And grant thy Kingdom soon to come

A Selection from the Psalter or

One or more of the Psalms below is read

Psalm 6:1 O Lord, do not rebuke me in Thine anger, nor chasten me in Thy wrath.

 2 Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am pining away; Heal me, O LORD, for my bones are

 3 And my soul is greatly dismayed; But Thou, O LORD-- how long?

 4 Return, O LORD, rescue my soul; Save me because of Thy lovingkindness.

 5 For there is no mention of Thee in death; In Sheol who will give Thee thanks?

 6 I am weary with my sighing; every night I make my bed swim, I dissolve my couch with my

 7 My eye has wasted away with grief; it has become old because of all my adversaries.

 8 Depart from me, all you who do iniquity, for the LORD has heard the voice of my weeping.

 9 The LORD has heard my supplication, The LORD receives my prayer.

 10 All my enemies shall be ashamed and greatly dismayed; they shall turn back, they shall

    suddenly be ashamed.

V. GLORY be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;

R. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Psalm 34:17 The righteous cry and the LORD hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles.

 18 The LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous; But the LORD delivers him out of them all.

 20 He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken.

 21 Evil shall slay the wicked; and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.

 22 The LORD redeems the soul of His servants; and none of those who take refuge in Him will

     be condemned.

V. GLORY be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;

R. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Psalm 27:7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice, and be gracious to me and answer me.

 8 When Thou didst say, "Seek My face," my heart said to Thee, "Thy face, O LORD, I shall seek."

 9 Do not hide Thy face from me, do not turn Thy servant away in anger; Thou hast been my help; do not abandon me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation!

 10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the LORD will take me up.

 11 Teach me Thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a level path, because of my foes.

 12 Do not deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries; for false witnesses have risen against me, and such as breathe out violence.

 13 I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living.

 14 Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the LORD.

V. GLORY be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;

Scripture Reading

The following short lessons or another suitable passage is read

Lamentations 3:21 This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. 22 The LORD's lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Thy faithfulness. 24 "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I have hope in Him." 25 The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the person who seeks Him. 26 It is good that he waits silently for the salvation of the LORD.

R. Thanks be to God.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and turn away from evil. 8 It will be healing to your body, and refreshment to your bones.

R. Thanks be to God.
