Ministry Descriptions

Altar Guild Ministry- responsible for the preparation and break down of the Altar each Sunday as well as caring for the Altar wares

 
Nursery and Children’s Church  Ministry - responsible to assist with nursery and children’s church during the worship hour. 

Children’s Sunday School Ministry - this ministry is made up of those willing to team teach in our Children’s Sunday School program (this class will be made up of our babies and toddlers)

Elementary Sunday School Ministry - this ministry is made up of those willing to teach in our Elementary Children’s Sunday School program (this class will be made up of our Elementary aged children)

Adult Sunday School Ministry- this ministry is made up of those willing to team teach our adult Sunday School. 

 

Youth Ministry- responsible to help our youth team with youth events and functions. This may include opportunities to help plan events, coordinate events, chaperon events, assist with events, or lead group Bible studies.

 

Anna’s Ministry– This important ministry of prayer is ideal for those in our parish who want to serve but who are physically less active (See the full description below)

 

Lector Ministry- responsible to assist with the reading of the Epistle during Sunday Worship

 

Chalice Bearer Ministry– Adult males responsible to serve the wine during the Eucharist service (Requirements- must be a confirmed, baptized member of the church, 18 years old or older)

 

Weekly Servers Ministry–  Males (youth and adult) who are responsible to assist the priest during the worship services of the church (Gospeler/Crucifer/Acolyte).  Requirements- must be a confirmed, baptized member of the Church, able to sit attentively through the service, and mature enough to understand the sacredness of their service.

 

Jr. Altar Guild Ministry– Young ladies who are responsible to assist the Altar Guild in the preparation and break down of the Altar each Sunday, thereby learning the ministry of the Altar Guild (Requirements- must be a confirmed, baptized member of the Church, mature enough to understand the sacredness of their service)

 

Usher Ministry-

responsible to greet people as they enter the church, take up offering, close the Altar rail after offering, prompt rows during the Eucharist, assist members after Eucharist, and make sure pews are neat after service

Church Registrar- the church registrar is responsible for maintaining the Church Register. This involves entering the names and dates of new members, Baptisms, confirmations, weddings and etc…  (This position is currently filled)

 

Church Treasurer- the church treasurer is responsible for keeping and maintaining the church’s financial records. This position requires vestry approval. (This position currently filled)

Finance Committee- the Finance Committee is responsible for assisting the Treasurer in counting, recording, and depositing the weekly tithes and offerings. This position requires vestry approval. (This position currently filled)

Altar Flowers- those serving in this area are responsible for assisting with the weekly Altar flowers and with special seasonal decorations. Please note: service in this area does not require an artistic flare or a knack for floral arrangements (its great if one has such skills). However, a simple willingness to help is what is needed most.  


Music/Choir- those serving in this ministry will assist our music ministry, take part in the choir, and participate in special music throughout the year.

Building and Grounds- those serving in this ministry will be responsible for assisting the Church Warden (Palmer) in maintaining the church building and grounds, doing minor repairs, and ensuring the facility is ready for Worship on Sunday.

Prayer Team- those serving in this important ministry are responsible to be available to pray with others at the prayer desks during Sunday worship as the Eucharist is being served. Participants should have a mature prayer life, sense God urging them to intercede for others, be able to guard confidentiality, and be willing to continue praying throughout the week for the needs brought to them.
